EDWARDS, LOWELL Co Ltd (ELCOL), originally started out in the mid 1920's by an American gentleman of English descent, Mr Charles Lowell, as a partnership of general traders of various goods ranging from UNILEVER Food stuffs to even textiles, however it was in the mid 60's that the company started to veer away from food to the textiles industry.
By the early 70s the company started to concentrate solely on the dealing of high quality Swiss watches with the philosophy of only buying the Swiss best with absolutely no compromise.
The Swiss connection was always strong with the Lowell family ever since the founder Charles Lowell became Honorary Consul in 1937 by nature of his unique friendship with the Nestle General Manager of the time. Managing Director Malcolm Lowell Senior today follows in his father's footsteps as Swiss Consul.
